DJAD is a design gurukul, established in the year 2004, to a felt need in the country. It is situated in Coimbatore the Manchester of South India and also the city is an educational hub. The climate is pleasant due to its proximity to thickly forested mountain ranges of the western ghats. The city houses more than 60,000 small, medium, and large industries from various sectors. Thus it becomes an ideal place for the students to get an exposure from different industries, during their course of study in the form of live projects, internships, and placements.
In addition to the well qualified inhouse faculty, DJAD has a large pool of visiting faculties, who are experts in their domains. That is why there is a paradigm shift in the students learning curve when they complete the course. The final semester project, which is the culmination of the student’s programme, speaks volumes on the efforts put in by the learner during the past semesters.
DJAD is located inside a 23-acre lush green campus, with well-furnished separate hostel facilities. They are equipped with safe drinking water, well stocked gym facility and are 24 hours wi-fi enabled. The hostel mess provides quality and delicious food for the entire student community. Our security guards are at service 24 x 7 throughout the year.
In addition to the classroom activities, DJAD also arranges students visit to various design studios as well as industries across the country as part of the industry – institution interaction initiative for the students to get an opportunity to experience the industry works as well as the industry environment. Cultural activities are given utmost importance to recognize and bring out the hidden talents of the students which will ultimately lead to their holistic development.
Student self-development is very important because this is only going to imbibe the skills needed to be industry ready. The Training and Placement cell of DJAD strives hard to ensure that our students not only become employable also they become leaders.
