UG Admissions (B. Design)

DJAD Undergraduate programme (4 years) is offered in Industrial Design – IND, Communication Design – CND, User Experience Design – UED, Animation & Film Making – AFM .

  • Admission for Undergraduate Programme is offered to students based on the scores obtained by them in 10+2 examinations (or equivalent) and on their performance in the Personal Interview conducted by DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore.
  • During the Personal Interview, the design aptitude of applicants will be evaluated along with their skills in Sketching, Visualisation, Creativity, and Sense of understanding & solving problems.
  • The candidates must present a Work Portfolio (Portfolio of their work) to the panel of the selection jury during the Personal Interview. The portfolio could include any creative work done by the student (such as drawings, paintings, photographs, films/ videos made by the student, craftwork, project, models, etc.)
  • Candidates who are to appear in the 10+2 examinations (or equivalent) in March / April of the year of admission can also register for admission.
  • Appearance in Interview does not necessarily guarantee the admission.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility 10 + 2 from any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
Age Up to 23 years of age as on 30th June of the year of Admission.

PG Admissions (M. Design)

DJAD Postgraduate programme (2 years) is offered in Industrial Design – IND, Communication Design – CND, Furniture & Space Design – FSD streams.

  • Admission for Postgraduate Programme is offered to students based on the scores obtained in their Undergraduation examination and on their performance in the Personal Interview conducted by DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore.
  • During the Personal Interview, the design aptitude of applicants will be evaluated along with their skills in Sketching, Visualisation, Creativity, and Sense of understanding & solving problems.
  • The candidates must present a Work Portfolio (Portfolio of their work) to the panel of the selection jury during the Personal interview. The portfolio could include any creative work done by the student (such as drawings, paintings, photographs, films/ videos made by the student, craftwork, project, models, etc.)
  • Appearance in interview does not necessarily guarantee admission.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications to be considered eligible for admissions:

  • An undergraduate degree program of minimum 3-year duration in any specialization, after 10+2 system, from any university or institute recognized by law in India with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Candidates who are to appear for the final semester examinations during May / June of the year of admission can also register for admission.

            OR

  • A Full-time Diploma or Degree of minimum 4-year duration in Design / Fine Arts / Applied Arts / Architecture, after 10+2 system, from any university or institute recognized by law in India. Condition: Applicants must have passed / have appeared for / be appearing fo the Diploma examinations before July admission year.
Age 20 years and above as on 30th June of the year of admission.

Application Procedure UG and PG Admissions

  • Go to www.djad.in website and register on admissions portal.
  • After registration, open the online application form; fill it up completely, submit the application and pay the Application Fee online.
  • The receipt of your application will be sent to your registered e-mail ID.
  • Upload the Portfolio of your work on DJAD admission portal. This will be allowed only after payment of application fees.
  • Information on the Online Interview schedule will reach the eligible candidates via e-mail / SMS.

Scholarship & Loans

DJAD awards a limited number of scholarships to befitting students under the following norms from 2nd year onwards.

  • DJAD students with a family income of less than Rs.10 lac per annum are eligible to apply.
  • Students must submit “Form-16” of both parents & all other earning family members, along with the application form.
  • From among the lot of students with a gross family income of less than Rs.10 lac per annum, the most deserving and needy students will be selected, based on their attitude and academic performance.
  • The scholarship will be given to meet 80% of the tuition fees.
  • The decision taken by the members of the scholarship committee would be final and binding.
  • Any student submitting false information / documents will be expelled from the institute and the scholarship granted will be collected back with interest thereon.
  • DJAD students may approach the Indian Bank for education loan. Considering the reputation of the Academy, Indian Bank’s Coimbatore Zonal Office has advised all its branches across India to consider loan applications from DJAD students on merit.
