Study at DJ Academy

UG Admissions

  • Secure admission to our Undergraduate Programme based on your 10+2 scores, performance DJAD Entrance Exam on Design (DEED 2024), and exchange of creative ideas during the Personal Interview.
  • Share your creative journey with our selection panel, candidates are invited to present a Work Portfolio – a collection of their artistic endeavours, from drawings and paintings to photographs, films, craftwork, projects, and more.
  • If you’re gearing up for your 10+2 exams in March/April, you can already secure your spot with us.
  • Keep in mind, while an interview is a step, it’s the creative spark that truly lights the path to admission.

UG - ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for admission:

  • Candidates must have successfully completed the 12th standard or its equivalent from any stream, recognized by State Boards or Central Boards (such as CBSE, ICSE, etc.), with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
  • Alternatively, candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma with 50% aggregate marks (after 10th Std) from any stream, from an institution recognized by AICTE/State Govt., are also eligible.
  • Those currently appearing for or have completed these qualifying examinations before July of the year of admission to B.Des. can apply.
  • The candidate’s age should not exceed 22 years as of 31st July in the year of application.

PG Admissions

  • Enrollment into the Postgraduate Programme is determined by the scores from the Undergraduation examination, performance in the DJAD Entrance Exam for Design 2023 (DEED 2024), and the Personal Interview at DJAD, Coimbatore.
  • DEED 2024 and the Personal Interview assess applicants’ design aptitude, evaluating skills in Sketching, Visualisation, Creativity, and Problem-solving.
  • During the interview, candidates are required to present a Work Portfolio showcasing their creative endeavors, such as drawings, paintings, photographs, films/videos, craftwork, projects, models, etc.
  • It’s essential to note that participation in the interview does not guarantee admission.

PG - ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Possess an undergraduate degree of minimum 3 years duration in any specialization with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • Hold a full-time diploma of minimum 4 years duration in Design / Fine Arts / Applied Arts / Architecture with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, following from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
  • Condition: Applicants must have passed, appeared for, or be appearing for the Diploma examinations before July of the year of admission.
  • Age Requirement: Applicants should be more than 20 years of age and less than or equal to 25 years of age as of 31st July of the year of applying.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Ready to join DJ Academy?

  • Head over to www.djad.in and register on the admissions portal.
  • Once registered, complete the online application form, including payment of the application fee, and submit it online.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address.
  • Upload your portfolio to the DJAD admissions portal.
  • Shortlisted candidates will receive further information about DEED 24 and the personal interview via email

Ideal portfolio are with 15-30 pages to maintain a balance between showcasing your unique skills and learnings.

  • Keep the portfolio design simple and organized
  • Ensure that each page or project is relevant to your skills and the message you want to convey.

4. Whitespace and layout

  • Allow your portfolio space to breathe by using whitespace in your design.

Things to avoid

Copy of other artworks

We encourage our students to use their creativity and produce original pieces. Avoid submitting artwork that closely copies or replicates existing pieces from other artists. Plagiarism is not tolerated.

Avoid fan art and pirated or infringed work

Our Design Gurukul promotes diverse artistic influences but emphasizes the website as a platform for showcasing unique talents. Prioritizing originality and respect for intellectual property, we urge artists to submit only work they hold the necessary rights for. Avoiding pirated or copied materials ensures a space for artists to confidently showcase their creations while upholding principles of creativity and legal integrity.
